Regatta Selection Criteria

US International 420 Class Association

2012 World Championships Selection Criteria

Qualifying Series Events

Sailors interested in competing in the 2012 I-420 World Championships in Austria  (July 27–Aug 5, 2012) as members of Team USA, are required to submit an application to the US I-420 Class listing the two best Qualifying Regatta scores of the helmsman from I420 regattas no later than 2400 PST on April 1, 2012. Scores of the Helm position only are eligible for qualifying for the event and an application is not valid unless helm and crew apply as a team.

Application Forms are available on the US I-420 Class Association web site (www.usi420.org).  Invitations will be extended to join Team USA at the 2012 WC to the seven (7) highest scoring teams in the Open Division (men’s or mixed teams) and to the seven (7) highest scoring teams in the Women’s Division. Selections will be based on the highest combined point total of the helm position from the two (2) best Qualifying Regattas from the list of eligible Qualifying Regattas.

US International 420 Class Association

2012 Junior European Championship Selection Criteria

Qualifying Series Events

Sailors desiring to compete in the 2012, I420 Junior European Championship (“2012 JEC”) as members of Team USA are required to submit an application to the Class Association listing their three best Qualifying Regattas scores no later than April 1, 2012.  Application Forms are available on the US I420 Class Association web site (www.usi420.org).  Invitations will be extended to join Team USA at the 2012 JEC to the seven highest scoring skippers and their crews (men or women) based on the Qualifying Regattas chosen for submission from the list of eligible Qualifying Regattas.

2011 Pacific Coast Championship

The 2011 US I420 Pacific Coast Championship will once again be hosted by the Santa Barbara Yacht Club over the weekend of October 21-23, 2011.  The Notice of Race, Registration and other information can be found here.

2011 Orange Bowl Regatta

The US I420 Class Association and the Coconut Grove Sailing Club are pleased to announce that the I420 class will be welcomed as a permanent fleet at the Open Orange Bowl Regatta along with the 29er and adult Laser.  This is great news and gives the I420 North Americans a permanent home in Miami.
